Average Mileage?

Q – What would you say is an average mileage on a single charge?

A – average mileage with our 48v100ah pack is 40 miles.
36/100 – 40 miles
48/60 – 30 miles
48/150 – 60 miles
48/200 – 80 miles
72/100 – 40 miles
72/150 – 60 miles
72/200 – 80 miles

Discharge Amps?

Q – I am trying to see if you have or can make a lithium battery that can discharge higher amps. I have the SilverWolf AC motor and controller and I have been looking at the roypow p series but ran across your products. Looking for max discharge of 300 amps. 

A – Our standard 48v100ah pack gives you 350amp peak, 200 amp continuous.

36/100 = Peak 250, Continuous 120

48/60 = 150, 120

48/150 = 350, 300

48/200 = 500, 400

72/100 = 350, 200

72/150 = 350, 300

Cart Speed?

Q – By installing one of your LiFePo4 battery packs, can I expect to see an increase in my golf cart speed?

A – Yes, on average about 3 to 5 mph increase. Think of this way, you are removing about 450 pounds of lead/acid batteries & replacing those with 92 pounds (48/100ah), so about 360 pounds lighter! Not only will you increase speed, you will also have more torque/power to climb or carry load. The exact speed increase will vary, depending on your cart, motor, and controller setup.

Q – Will I gain torque or power by installing a LiFePo4 battery?

A – Absolutely! Removing your heavier lead/acid batteries & installing our battery pack will greatly increase torque & the power of the cart.

What is Maintenance Requirements?

Q – What are the battery maintenance details, that I should do?

A – There is zero maintenance! There are no water reservoirs, like the old Lead/Acid batteries. You will also not have to worry about acid corrosion.

Battery Life Expectancy?

Q – What is the life expectancy of a LiFePo4 battery?

A- If you re-charge at 80% depth of discharge, you can expect to get 3000 cycles. If you wait until 100% depth of discharge, you can expect a life of 2000 cycles.

Q – What is the warranty of the LiFePo4 battery?

Charging Time?

Q – How long does it take to charge the battery?

A – For our 48v/100ah battery, if battery is at 100% depth of discharge, it will take 5 hours (apprx 20a per hour, so if at 60% d.o.d. re-charge would take about 3 hours). Based on 100% d.o.d., our 200ah will take 10 hours, 150ah battery will take 7.5 hours to fully re-charge.

A – Our 36/100 measures 13.4 Length × 11.3 Width × 11 Height in inches

Cart Specific Questions

2010 CCP

Q – I currently have a 2010 CCP with 6″ lift and 23″ tires running the Navitas 5kw AC kit I use at my campground only. Do you recommend your 48v 200ah or 72v 100ah? Or could you build a 72v 150ah with a sealed charger?

A – So it really depends on what you are looking to accomplish. Our 48v100ah pack will get you a range of 40 miles of just normal driving. If your looking to add speed (over 35mph) then the 72v100 pack is the way to go. If you need more range and speed 72v150 is the way to go.

 

1992 Club Car DS

Q – I’m in the process of converting a 1992 Club Car DS from a 36v lead to a 48v Lithium (maybe bigger after talking to you) and going from DC to AC, preferably a 600a 5kw Navitas conversion kit. I’m new at this, so any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I’m pretty sure a bigger solenoid would be required, I also heard I’ll have to do a IQ wiring on it, which I have no idea what that would entail. It looks like you guys sell about everything I would need to do this. I would like a fully sealed charger if possible so I could mount in cart and charge at other places.

A – We actually just custom made a wiring harness for this conversion. Typically you would also need to install a new foot pedal. If you could send us a picture of what you have, we could tell from that. Other than that, solenoid, new wiring battery and ac system and you would be good to go. We can certainly provide all this to you.

Club Car

Q – Does the charger have an adapter for Club Car? I would rather not have the charger mounted inside the cart. 

A – We can do it either way, at checkout select off board charger. We will put the OEM plug on it

2010 Yamaha

Q – So I have a bone stock 2010 Yamaha drive. All I do is golf and cruise around town. Looking for a good choice on a new battery. Not looking for anything crazy. Maybe down the road I’ll do a new motor and controller for more speed. What would you think is a good choice? Also does it charge through the stock Yamaha charge port?

A – Thank you for the inquiry. We have a perfect set up for you and your situation. We currently have 48v100ah batteries in stock that would give you a range of 40 to 50 miles between charges

2002 EZGO PDS

Q – I have a 2002 ezgo pds with Navitas  400 amp DC controller.  Currently I have it running as 48volt with 48 volt heavy duty solenoid but on factory motor.   I also have a Lester Summit Charger on board.  Cart is a pavement princess.  Not lifted on 10″ wheels running flat roads.  My goal is to get minimum of 18 mile range while keeping my current 22mph top in speed. (Faster is ok but I’m not looking for a 30mph cart) Questions:
Can I use my current Summit Charger?

A – No sir, they don’t have the correct charger profile but could possibly be reprogrammed.

Q – Which package is the best value (cheapest) to meet my goals?

A – 48v100ah 

Polaris w/ Sevcon Gen4

Q – I would like to convert to lithium. What would I need to do this. The Polaris has a Sevcon Gen4 controller 6
And a Delta Q Quik Charger
I have been told the amp draw is the critical issue that needs to be addressed. It has a 30 amp motor in it. What is recommended?

A – We are building a pack now that is designed for the Polaris EV carts. We are almost done with the engineering parts.

(Customer continues) Thanks for responding. I have looked into other batteries but they don’t seem to deliver the amps needed for the motor in the Polaris. I want to make sure it works with the controller. Not have to change out expensive parts. The idea of lithium sounds great though !

(ETCA) Yes, no one else has a battery that can handle it. If you check back in a few months we will have installed data to share with you.

Club Car Precedent

Q – Hi do you have a specs sheet for the 48v 100ah lifepo4 batteries. Also for club car precedent carts would 100ah be plenty of only doing 18-36 holes on a weekend? Or reccomend 120ah or 150ah?
Do you have a data sheet on the Daly BMS. Why are you now using this bms instead?  Thanks. I’m looking to upgrade my lead acids.

A – Our 48v100ah works great for precedent models. you could play 2 to 3 rounds of golf prior to needing to charge it. We average around 45 mile between charges. No need to go to a higher ah pack unless you need more mileage than listed above. Keep in mind, it only takes 2 to 3 hours to charge the battery if it is a 20% discharge level. We were already using daly bms systems in our non-standard high output packs. We decided to use these in our standard packs, so that we have the same bluetooth application for both batteries. In other words, we wanted to standardize.

Chargers

Sealed or Non-sealed chargers

Q – I’m not sure the difference between the sealed or non sealed chargers. 

A – one is completely sealed so that water doesn’t bother it. Sealed is good for high moisture areas (snow), cart stored outdoors, hunting carts, beach carts and farms carts

The other one is open to the environment. Both are nice just depends on what you use the cart to do.

Q – Can you tell me the difference and give me some guidance on the sealed and non sealed charger? 

A – the non sealed has a digital read out and is repairable. The sealed charger doesn’t have a read out and is not repairAble. Both are good. We typically sell the sealed to people using them in high moisture areas. Like hunting, beach, farms etc

On Board or Off Board

Q – Does the charger have an adapter for Club Car? I would rather not have the charger mounted inside the cart. 

A – We can do it either way, at checkout select off board charger. We will put the OEM plug on it.

Q - Can I use my current Summit Charger?

A – No sir, they don’t have the correct charger profile but could possibly be reprogrammed.

Miscellaneous

Q – Do you offer a voltage reducer to be used with your 72v 100ah to run lights, etc?

A – Yes, as long as you don’t have the divider Our packs have the 12v circuit for you. No need to run a voltage reducer unless you need more than 8amps.

Q – Are they (LiFePo4) drop in replacements for lead acid?

A – The battery is a drop in replacement. It sits in the middle battery tray

Q – What’s the difference between the high output packs?

A –The higher output packs allow for higher discharge current. This is needed if you are running higher non-standard controllers for speed or torque.
